The End of the Long Weekend

Today was the end of the long weekend. It was tough getting out of bed this morning. My Easter Monday was filled with walking around. As for the rest of the long weekend, it wasn't so productive. But anyways, here are the results of yesterday's trip!:

(Omit the ipod and bag in the corner)

It's probably surprising to see that I bought all this stuff at all.

The hat and t shirts are from Hot Topic. The usual price for the t shirts are usually around $26 to $28, but since there was a clearance sale, they were only $6.99! Of course, this asian couldn't resist! I was about to only get the Hello Kitty  food shirt, but I reasoned with myself. It'll be a while before these expensive shirts go on a sale with such a low price ever again.

The hat was a bit of a different story. The regular price is $28. Pretty expensive. It was on sale for  $3.99! For such a low price, I picked it up right away. It was the last of its kind in the hat box. This hat was als a Sanrio 50th anniversary item! There were a few other Hello Kitty hats, but I didn't really like the style. It looked like something the stereotypical person in the north would wear.

Last, but not least is my Japanese grammar book! I'm finally beginning to fulfill one of my new year's resolutions. At first, I thought about buying a Japanese dictionary, but a dictionary can't teach you all the fundamentals of Japanese grammatical structure! Unless it's an all in one type of dictionary. Squeezing all that information into the back of that book would not be an easy job. There also are words in Japanese that have no meaning in English. "Ga" for sure is one of them. I could go on about this for a while, but the main point is that a grammar book would be a more sensible purchase when learning Japanese than a dictionary (at first) because a dictionary won't tell you the correct way of putting a sentence together.

As I walked yesterday, I saw a t shirt in a store window that the words, "The Sun Will Rise Again" printed on it and the Japanese Imperial Flag behind the words. Next to it, was a sign that said that all of the money made from the sale of this shirt would go to Japan. The words on the shirt were moving. It gave me some sort of hope that Japan will rebuild itself back to the strong country it once was. This will happen, we all know for sure, because Japan has the money to rebuild itself. It shattered my heart to see what happened to this beautiful country. One thing we should all remember to is to continue to root for Japan, to give them hope to restore their empire.

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! Day 13

Today's kawaii items are...

... my Hello Kitty Beanie Babies!

About the items: (in the order they were attained)
Pink Tartan Hello Kitty: my present from Anna for Chinese New Year, 2010. She's from Animal World!

Blue Overall Hello Kitty: I got her from a mall across Woodbine Racetrack. There was a sale (it was sort of an anime store, not sure if they're still there) so I couldn't resist!

Red Overall Hello Kitty: I got her from a party today! (Read more about it in my last post)

Hello Kitty overload! Not really. XD If you saw my Hello Kitty haul, then definite yes. This tiny Hello Kitty Beanie Baby collection is sure to expand!

Surprise! It's Hello Kitty!

I went to a birthday party, and - surprise! They were giving out Hello Kitty give aways. What broke my heart was that they gave me a small bottle of perfume instead. Anyone who knows me knows that I rarely wear any cosmetics.

I later was able to get one for myself.
I know I describe myself as one would describe a child in this case, but this was an opportunity to build up my collection!

I'll post a picture of my new addition on a Kawaii Item(s) post later. For now, I'm jumping with joy that I have a new one in my collection!

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! Day 12

Today's kawaii item is...

...my Hello Kitty candy container!

About the item:
At the moment, I'm sort of blind because I just came in from outside. There was snow everywhere, and the white has sort of blinded me. Because of this, I can't really tell if the picture's quality is good or not, so if the quality is pretty ugly, forgive me. Again, this is an old picture since I'm too lazy to upload more. You can see my pink tinkerbell pajamas over there too!
I really like the candy that came from this one! It was orange flavoured, I think. I'm not too sure anymore, since I bought this last summer. What I put in there now is my Hello Kitty sillybands! You can read about them in one of my previous kawaii item posts. They're from an asian supermarket. I think I got this one in Chinatown. I'm not so sure, but I know for a fact that they sell them there. I've seen people use these things as places to keep bracelets, and other jewelry, so there's a creative way to use them if you don't want to throw them out!

More "Kawaii Item(s) of the Day!" posts to come! I'm now motivated to take some more new pictures!

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! Day 11

Today's kawaii item is...

...my Hello Kitty strawberry marshmallows!

About the item:
This is another old picture from last year, already on my laptop since I was too lazy to upload new pictures, or even take new ones. If I wasn't, I'd have a post up about Rinko Ueda already.
It doesn't taste so bad. It's okay. I'm not much of a fan of marshmallows with anything on the inside (unless it's chocolate, but does it exist?), but I am a fan of Hello Kitty! I was able to buy this from an asian supermarket, so check your asian supermarket if they have some!

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! Day 9

Today's kawaii items are...

... my Hello Kitty silly bands!

About the items:
I got them at two stores. I lost some, though. T^T I only have a few since my sister gave me those ones. The Hello Kitty heads in blue, red, green, and black are from Hot Topic, and the rest are from Animal World.

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! (Day 8)

Today's kawaii item is...

.... my Hello Kitty - Tuxedo Sam Sanrio 50th Anniversary plushie!!!

About the item: ¸
I got her at Animal World, during their closing sale, which was 50% off everything in the store. With the store being really expensive and having all these kawaii things, I couldn`t resist. These "straight from Sanrio" plushies are hard to find around the GTA, too. Since they were in the midst of a sale (which was pretty rare, coming from them) a lot of the Sanrio plushies disappeared. For the 50th anniversary collection, all that was left was this Tuxedo Sam, or Hangyodon. I picked Tuxedo Sam. I really wished I could`ve gotten the My Melody one! It`s fine, though. I don`t have anything of Tuxedo Sam, so I now have my first Tuxedo Sam item!

I'll be buying more kawaii items tomorrow, and on Sunday, if all goes well.

That means more "Kawaii Item of the Day" posts!

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! Day 6

Today's kawaii item is...

... my pink Hello Kitty pen!

About the item:
I got this pen from Animal World, a store that just closed down last year (I miss you guys!) It writes in pink, but as it dries, the ink on the paper turns gold. I tried to take a picture of the ink, but you cant really see it in the picture. T^T My sister has the same one, but in blue. I think I'll start a kawaii pen collection from now on!

Please continue to show Japan your support! They need it!

Today's Kawaii Item(s)! Day 4

Today's kawaii item is...

my sister's Hello Kitty DS cover!!!

About the item: Once again, this was from Pacific Mall. If I'm not mistaken, the Hello Kitty featured on the front is the original Hello Kitty.

I wish I had a DS, but if I did, I wouldn't play on it that much. I'm not a gamer. What I do want is a wii!

I bet it won't happen though. If I had enough money to buy a wii, I'd spend it on loli stuff! All those frills and bows... *-*

Sephora x Hello Kitty Collaboration!

I went to the mall yesterday, and found out that the Hello Kitty x Sephora promotion is still underway! When I went inside Sephora, I found that all the employees were wearing those pink hello kitty bow headbands! I rushed in to see if they were selling those in the store, but none could be found to be sold to the public.

I remember going into Sephora earlier this month to check out the prices, to see if I could buy anything, but this asian writing this didn't end up buying anything. That's what I get for being a cheapo!

I'm also glad I didn't buy anything because I'm trying to save up for the MTAC and Anime North. I'm not 100% sure that I'll be going to either of them, but it's nice to save up some money, just in case. I don't want another "not-enough-money-I-can-barely-buy-anything" incident. Ugh. That was terrible.

In any case, I'm still excited for the two events. I really hope I can make it!

*Sorry for the blurry picture! It was taken by cell phone!

What Can an Otaku/Kawaii Lover Buy at Pacific Mall?

People visiting the GTA should visit Pacific Mall, in Markham. The area around Pacific Mall is also considered Chinatown, meaning lots of cute things!

I know everyone loves pictures, so get prepared for some pictures I took on my last few visits there!

Those pictures were taken with my old cell phone. The quality from that cell phone is not the same as the one I have now, which is supposedly better than the old one. GAHH!

These are just a few of the many things you can find at Pacific Mall. You can find everything from Hello Kitty toasters and hello kitty t.vs to anime posters and cosplay here. (Just in case you were wondering which cosplays there are, I've seen Haruhi Suzumiya, Naruto, Shugo Chara, and some others.) I took these pictures without considering that they would one day be posted here. They were taken before I even thought about creating this blog. Because of that, there are no pictures of the stores these came from, or even stores in general. Also, there aren't enough variety of pictures I took of otaku things. Next time, I promise pictures of the stores! One thing I can't promise are pictures of the insides, since some don't allow it.

Pacific Mall is what I call a Kawaii lover's and an otaku's heaven. I don't think anyone would disagree with me on this one.
